INTERNET READY COMPUTER OWNERSHIP SCHEME (IRCOS)

The Internet ready computer ownership scheme (IRCOS) is a process aimed at making the ownership of internet ready computers accessible and readily available to persons who subscribe to the products and services of the company. This is borne out of the reality that most of the products and services offered by the companies in the conglomerate are internet based. Therefore, the ownership of internet ready computers become imperative to enable all the interested persons participate fully and subscribe to as many products as possible. This scheme will be anchored by another company within the conglomerate to provide the leasing services. The details for this scheme shall be unfolded on the website when the scheme has been fully developed. The details shall capture issues about eligibility, mode of application and processing of application, benefits, responsibilities, payments and sundry issues to make the scheme workable.

ELIGIBILITY

All the persons who have registered and subscribed to the internet based products and services of any of the companies within the conglomerate shall be eligible to benefit from this scheme. The acquisition of the internet ready computer will be on lease arrangement anchored by a leasing company within the conglomerate. However, such persons should have consistently subscribed to a minimum of five internet based products and services offered by the companies within the conglomerate for a minimum period of six calendar months. The products and services include real estate, internet journalism, e-education, online training, product advertisement, service advertisement, bulk SMS services, vacancy advertisement, internet service signals, packaged water, environmental consultancy, construction and marketing services. Importantly, the interested persons shall be required to demonstrate convincing willingness and ability to repay for the asset.

REGISTRATION

All the eligible persons that are interested in this scheme would be required to formally register for the programme by creating an account on the website which will be announced at the commencement of the programme. It is advisable for all the interested persons to create the account at the onset of the scheme and start making gradual contribution towards the 25% of the asset cost. However, the registration for this scheme may not commence until most of the internet based products and services have been fully announced to the general public.
